Panic and Anxiety: Stop With A Breath

Panic Attack or Anxiety PTSDImage via Wikipedia
How Many Of You Currently Have or Have Had Episodes of Panic or Anxiety? Well, I have...

...And understand how hard it can be to relax and even focus. Let's be honest here for a moment, having feelings of anxiety and/or panic or even experience an "attack" is one of the most awful, uncontrollable moments one can emotionally have, not to mention how exhausting it can make us.

No one enjoys feeling this way and would slam the off button is there were one.

Well, I have good news, through the years, I found the easiest way to cope that works for me and could work for you too...it's worth trying, right?
  • First, think about what feelings of anxiety and panic get you.
  • Now think of where it gets those closest to you...those who love you most
  • Now think about if you could change that feeling.
No one wants those they love to suffer from feeling hopeless and helpless, plus can't help in your time of need.
Your breathing could mean the difference between simply being more calm or not. So rather than letting this ailment get the best of you, let's talk about how to reduce and even stop it naturally
  1. Begin to slow your breathing: I know this can be hard to do in "panic mode", but all you need to do is concentrate on each breath you take.
  2. Focus every ounce of your being and energy on the breathing: If your mind can only think about one thing, then this can help the racing thoughts diminish more effectively.
  3. Now that you have focused on your breathing, now change that focus to a phrase that gets your mind in a more repetitive thought pattern. Choose a phrase that you know calms you every time it is said, by someone else or you. My phrase it "IT'S GOING TO BE OKAY, IT'S GOING TO BE OKAY". I think about my mother telling me this when I've gone through my worst of moments and hear her voice verbalizing it. Find what makes you feel the best.
  4. Do these incredibly simple steps for as long as you need to until you begin to detach your emotional weights and find freedom in weightlessness from the anxiety and/or panic that gets inside your beautiful, courage-filled mind.
Remember, it make take a few times to get the hang of this and even to find the wording/phrase that works best, but the mind works with repetitive progressive thought patterns and will react to them the same as long as you let it. This is one of the reasons you may experience these feelings to start with over and over again. The brain recalls distinct patterns, but tricking your mind will then send it back to a normal sense of how it should be reacting.  Retraining the mind will heap majestic rewards.
Let me know if this is something you ended up trying and, more importantly, if itworked for you.
I love feedback...comments are always welcome!

Does Your Favorite Color Match You?

Colouring pencilsImage via Wikipedia

These are meanings for colors I'm able to recall from a Spirituality book I read a few years back in college (can't recall the name of it for the life of me).
The meanings are pretty much uniform/universal, but I thought this was pretty interesting how several people state their favorite color matches their emotional and/or mental being...mine does for sure!

Red: Passionate, Action, Radiance
Yellow: Creative, Powerful, Intellectual
Blue: Expressive, Emotional and Mentally Strong, Stable
Purple: Peace
Orange: Harmonic, Content, Humble
Black: Stability, Courage, Understanding
Green: Nurturing, Adventurous, Nature Oriented
White: Pure, Balance, Full of Life and Love

My Favorite Color is Definitely Red...love every type of red there is!

Who's the Most Supportive Person In Your Life...Now or Then?

The most supportive person today is still the one who has been the most supportive to me along the way. This person gave birth to me, she has loved me through thick and thin, she has been there for me when I needed her most.
I only hope to live up to the expectations for my son as she has for my brother and myself.
There is no way I could ever repay her for all of the
everything she has done for me over the years. I'm truly grateful and appreciative to have a mother like her.

I'm extremely blessed.

Thanks Ma!

This is my Mom, Darlene with her grand-baby (my son), Brennan Cole.
My Mom defianetly helped improve my life.
Who helped improve yours through their supportive nature?

Treat Others How You Want To Be Treated...

This is an old popular phrase used once to each of us sometime along our lives, when we were children, we probably heard it most. Yet, it is something that's not necessarily followed by the amount of people I hope that it will someday and I still cannot figure out why people carry so must distrust for one another. It;s truly sad to me.

Let's break this down a bit.... It seems the aspect of RESPECT is not as popular as it once had been, meaning a simple "Hello" doesn't come short of any gestures as we walk down the street or "how's your day going today" at the grocery store.

It very well could just be me, but I make a point to say hello to everyone I come in contact with, I mean geeze, it's common courtesy, right? This was how I was raised and how I'm raising my child as well. I really couldn't see it any other way.
Maybe the correlation of respect and human nature is no longer in the cards.

One must respect who they are before they can respect another and I believe in this.

Second, respect for who you are comes with loving everything....your mind, body, spirit and soul.

Third, self-respect entails confidence, self-love, and the ability to think positively. The hope one can respect another will and can be possible if these items are taken more seriously.

It goes a little something like this, "DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER"!

I understand this seems like such a simple and manageable concept, but the fact is, this was important enough to me to post about. I hope it mends the heart of one that realizes maybe they need to be more respective of themselves and others as well.

Thank you as always and make it a wonderful day!

Being Grateful For What You Have

Sometimes we only look at the positive aspects of our lives and forget what really matters. Recently, I have vowed to make sure I write down something(s) I am thankful that I have in my life. I began this by looking into ways to create abundance within my life and found that logging the things that mean most to you each day can actually bring on a more positive and abundant being.

I would love for you all to try this and let me know in a month or so if and/or how your life has changed if you have chosen to take on this simple daily task with me. Also, tell me what it is in your life that you are now grateful for.

Thank you as always and I look forward to reading some of your comments.

Deja Vu - Coincidence? I think not.

 TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK...

Have you ever had those moments where you think to your self, "I've been here before" or "this has already happened to me"? Well, you're not alone, because it happens to us all. The term "Deja Vu" is very well known all across the world and still, no one has truly been able to crack the code of why this happens to us. There are several theories of why Deja Vu occurs, but no one single answer.

Definitions

Deja Vu: Already Seen

Deja Vecu: Already Lived

Deja Visite: Already Visited

Jamais Vu: Never Seen

Memory Patterns With Pictures...?

Some of the theories behind this is that our brain uses our memory patterns, such as a hologram. Our brain can "reconstruct"  entire 3-D pictures from our memory database and redirected from the present time, rather than a potential recollection from past experiences with several pictures from our mind.

You never know when you will actually experience Deja Vu, but once it happens most carry on about their day not thinking twice about when, where, or how it happened to us. It seems to be only a 1 time encounter and doesn't necessarily happen again, at least not in the same way it had prior. Some say that we have "forgotten" moments within our minds that they come back to us and then to be considered as Deja Vu....I'm not buying it.

What Do You Think? Write Comments or Experiences You Can Recall That Have Happened To You...
